The search is ON for British actor Julian Sands who has reportedly been missing for nearly a week. According to The Independent, the 65-year-old son is understandably frantic as he joins the search party for his father. The outlet also reports the actor’s vehicle has been located. Who is Julian Sands?

At 65 years old, Julian Sands is a British actor with over 150 credits attached to his resume. Per IMDb, some of his work he is best known for includes A Room With A View, Naked Lunch, Warlock, and The Medallion. Based on his credits, the actor did not appear to be retired as his most recent credit was a film titled The Ghosts of Monday which was released just last year.

The British actor has been missing for a week

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the actor was reported missing in the California mountain range area on January 13th. He was reported missing by his wife Evgenia Citkowitz. At the time when the actor disappeared, he was believed to be hiking the Baldy Bowl Trail. This particular trail scales 3,900 feet up the San Gabriel Mountains and stretches over 4.5 miles.

Speaking to CNN, a spokesperson revealed the search and rescue teams were forced to suspend the search over the weekend due to an avalanche threat. Authorities, however, did continue the search using drones.

Understandably frantic, Julian Sands’ son Henry has joined the search. According to The Independent, Henry has been retracing his father’s hike with the help of an experienced climber.

Those who know and love Julian Sands describe him as a “keen hiker.” Moreover, the actor once wrote that his happiest moment was “close to a mountain summit on a glorious cold morning.”

Just an hour ago, authorities located what was believed to be the actor’s car near the route he was last believed to be hiking on. Footage has been released of the vehicle being towed as the search continues.
