Whoopi Goldberg’s Epic Response To Being Called ‘Old Broad’
Whoopi Goldberg spoke out about an audience member’s remarks toward her during Wednesday morning’s episode of The View. The person made themselves known to the panel of hosts before shouting out something about Whoopi being an “old broad.” Before taking a seat, Whoopi turned to address the comments made by the woman. Scroll on to see the epic response she had!
Hecklers On The View Get Whoopi’s Attention
Hecklers aren’t anything new to the cast of The View. Oftentimes, they have unpopular opinions that cause someone in the audience to want to speak up. Similarly, they often have political guests who people come to protest.
The hecklers on Wednesday morning’s live show were a little different though. They seemed to take aim at Whoopi Goldberg and it was personal. The two women wore blue masks and one wore a fur hat.
Whoopi started to give her normal welcome to the audience, stating that the crowd at the live show seemed to be a “very happy” one. She urged everyone to go on and have a seat.
The two women made sure that the hosts of the show saw them. In fact, they were especially loud and excited. When they got Whoopi’s attention, the woman in the hat apparently called Whoopi an “old broad.”
Whoopi Goldberg’s Response Is Amazing
First, Whoopi made sure she heard the woman right and asked her if she called her an “old broad.” “Yeah?” she asked. While many people would assume this would end badly, Whoopi Goldberg actually took the high road and her response was fantastic.
After confirming that the woman in a black fur hat did, in fact, call her an old broad Whoopi spoke up about it. “She said, ‘You old broad,’ and I was like, hey, it’s Wednesday, and I am an old broad, and happy about it.”
Whoopi’s co-host, Sunny Hostin reminded the 67-year-old that being an “old broad” certainly is better than “the alternative.”
“The alternative is not attractive to any of us,” Goldberg agreed. “We all want to be old broads and old dudes, you know?”
Throughout the rest of Wednesday’s live show, the camera cut over to the women who were sitting in folding chairs next to the stage. However, nothing further was said.
