Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tori Spelling is starting the New Year with a whopping $1.3 Million in unpaid taxes. The reality star is allegedly accused of owing the IRS several federal and state tax liens that have accumulated over the years. The 49-year-old has had several failed businesses over the years that added up to her financial struggles. Several fans even think her financial mess is the reason she is still together with her husband Dean McDermott despite rumors of marital issues. Keep reading to find out about her failed projects!

Tori Spelling Cleared Her Credit Card Debt in April 2022

Although the mother of five has finally settled her American Express credit card debt of a whopping $87,000, she is still struggling to pay back the IRS. The Dean & Tori’s Backyard Bash star was first sued by American Express in October 2016 for failing to pay her credit card bill. After failed payments over the years, the bank requested the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department to enforce the actress to pay her bills. Finally, in April 2022, she cleared her credit card debt.

Amid her ongoing money woes, Tori Spelling recently added more children to her existing brood. Her stepdaughter, Lola Eustace, and stepson, Jack Montgomery McDermott are currently, living with the actress and her husband. As per legal documents acquired by The Sun, the couple was to pay $75,617.30 in federal tax for the year 2016. Additionally, she was slapped with a $31,775.84 state tax lien for the same year. In 2017, the couple was allegedly required to clear up a total of $234,453.51 in state and federal taxes due from 2015.

However, their biggest due came in 2016 which amounted to $707,487.30 for the year 2014. The very same year, the couple also received a notice to pay a state tax of $259,108.23 for the year 2014.

Tori Spelling Tried Her Luck At Business With Little Maven

These pending taxes are a result of her failed businesses that started with a children’s clothing line in 2009 named Little Maven. The clothing items were available exclusively at JCPenney. However, the business didn’t do well and the company that had partnered with Spelling filed for bankruptcy in 2011 with $39.4 Million in liabilities. Again, the very same year, the Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever star launched an antique store named InvenTORI based in Sherman Oaks, California.

Although the store did last for three years, it ultimately went out of business in 2014. While her antique store was struggling, Tori Spelling also tried to experiment with DIY jewelry and teamed up with Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store. She launched the brand Styled by Tori Spelling. Although the website still carries directions to create different necklaces, there are no supplies available for purchase.

Are Tori Spelling And Dean McDermott Back Together?

Later in 2017, the TV star teamed up with Ian Ziering and launched Beauty Box. Although the business does have a Facebook page, it doesn’t have an official website for fans to shop from. It redirects to another one of her businesses, Beauty by Tori which sells skincare and makeup products.

These financial woes come at a trying time for the couple. Rumors suggest that the couple had attempted a trial separation. However, Tori Spelling later changed her heart and decided to give their marriage a chance.
