Barbara Walters passed away at the age of 93 on December 30, 2022. As per her spokesperson, the veteran journalist died peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Moreover, she lived a life with no regrets. She was a feminist and icon throughout her career which spanned more than fifty years.

Katie Couric Shares An Inspirational Note From Barbara Walters
The Emmy Award winner revealed how Walters was comfortable interviewing both Oscar winners and world leaders. Her body of work is unparalleled. She further added that she was lucky to receive Barbara’s encouragement and kindness. Katie revealed that she has a note from Walters framed in the office that she received when she landed a big interview with President George W. Bush.
She even shared the note she received that read:
“Dear Katie, you were terrific with Mrs. Bush (you knew far more than she did), and nabbing the President was a real coup. You are so darn good! Bravo! Barbara.”

Katie Couric wrapped up the tribute as she stated, “As I wrote in my book, she liked to say we were similar— that neither of us was particularly glamorous. I never quite knew how to take that! But the fact that Barbara saw some of her in me was nothing but a compliment. Thank you for everything. Barbara. #RIP.”
