Rally Car Driver Ken Block Dead At 55 In Tragic Accident
Tragic breaking news for rally car sports fans as Ken Block has been confirmed dead at the age of 55 following a terrible accident. According to TMZ Sports, the rally car driving champion was in a snowmobile accident that he did not recover from.
Ken Block’s team issued the following statement regarding his passing when the news first broke: “Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.”
When the news first broke, the details surrounding his accident and his tragic death were unclear. TMZ Sports, however, has since updated its report with more information about his accident.

Ken Block was snowmobiling in Utah at the time of his passing. His final Instagram updates are still live on his Stories. About 12 hours ago, he posted a photo of the “sketchy and snowy drive with some great snowboard entertainment.” He posted a second photo of snow-covered vehicles noting there was a Can-Am Off-Road somewhere under the blanket of snow.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office later told TMZ that Ken Block was snowmobiling around 2 p.m. He was on a steep slope when his vehicle upended and came crashing down on top of him. Officials also told the outlet that he was pronounced dead at the scene because of the injuries he suffered as a result of the accident.
His Instagram Booms With Support
The rally car driving champion had 7.5M followers on Instagram at the time of his passing. His final Instagram post was published just nine hours ago when he teased his followers with “The 4th and final episode of my 16-year-old daughter Lia buying, tearing down, rebuilding and now driving her ‘85 Audi Ur Quattro.” He announced the video would be live on his YouTube channel tomorrow. In light of his passing, it is unclear if the video will still be uploaded to his channel.
His followers poured into the comments of his final Instagram post to encourage him to rest in peace as they showed his family with love and support.
One gutted individual penned: “Beyond devastated by this absolutely tragic news. You were a constant & consistent inspiration to myself and so many others. I’m truly grateful to have worked with you at least once in this lifetime. Rest in Peace Ken, my sincerest condolences to all his loved ones.”

His Instagram comments revealed a lot of people loved Ken Block. And, they just weren’t ready to say goodbye to him.
