Andy Cohen Changes His Mind On NYE Drinking?
Andy Cohen is going back on his previous stance to drink on New Year’s Eve. After he clapped back at Ryan Seacrest in his interview with Rolling Stone, he gave it a second thought. It all started when Ryan addressed CNN’s no-boozing policy. He feels that it’s a great idea.
Ryan doesn’t understand why the cable network allowed their hosts to drink on air in the first place. He also feels that most of them should cut back on drinking. Andy said that he would booze it up on New Year’s Eve. Now, he’s changing his mind and giving a different response.
Andy Cohen shares his NYE plans
In a new interview with Page Six, Andy Cohen shared that he won’t be drinking on the CNN New Year’s Eve special with Anderson Cooper. However, that won’t stop him from having a little fun. He admits that they will have a good time regardless.
“We aren’t drinking,” Andy Cohen confirmed on Thursday, December 29, “but we’re going to have a BLAST.”
This comes after the Watch What Happens Live host told Rolling Stone that he has no intentions of slowing down the drinking. That interview was published on Wednesday. Yet, it’s hard to tell when Ryan sat down for that interview. He could’ve changed his mind afterward.
“CNN said the correspondents will not be drinking,” Andy Cohen clarified to Rolling Stone. “Anderson and I will be the people partying on CNN [though] we will be partying responsibly.”
He also shared that he would “torch the place” and then “head out” back to his house after the festivities. Andy called himself the “ringleader” of the CNN special. He swore that he “will continue” to do on the live broadcast. Fans slammed Andy for his drunken behavior last year after he blasted Mayor Bill de Blasio and Ryan Seacrest.
Feuding with Ryan Seacrest?
During last year’s broadcast, Andy Cohen got himself in trouble when he had too much to drink and called the ABC’s host and production staff a “bunch of losers.” He issued an apology the next day on Twitter and admits that he “overserved.” Some fans were convinced that Andy was on under the influence of something harder.
It’s unclear why Andy suddenly changed his mind. The CNN bosses may have shut him down since he made it known that he was going to party hard. The network probably doesn’t want to have another controversy. Fans will have to see if Andy sticks to his word on Saturday, December 31.
Andy Cohen denied the allegations and claimed that he only drank alcohol. What are your thoughts? Do you think Andy will still drink this year? Or, do you think he’s been shot down by CNN bosses? Sound off below in the comment section.
