‘Bringing Up Bates’ Gil & Kelly Bates Celebrate Special Milestone
Bringing Up Bates stars Gil and Kelly Bates are celebrating a special milestone. The parents of 19 have done a lot together over the years and took the time to acknowledge just how far they’ve come. So, what is the huge milestone that they reached this week? Keep reading for all of the details.

This week, Gil and Kelly celebrated 35 years of marriage. The pair tied the knot on Dec. 19, 1987. Since then, their family has grown and is still continuing to grow. The proud parents of 19 kids have many sons and daughters-in-law. They now have 22 grandchildren with two more on the way. Katie and Travis Clark will welcome their first baby to the world in March, and John and Alyssa Webster are expecting their fifth baby in April.
On Instagram, Kelly penned a heartfelt message about her 35 years of marriage to Gil. She wrote, “On one hand it seems like yesterday that I first got butterflies, & on the other, it seems like we’ve been in each other’s lives forever!”
At the end of her post, the Bringing Up Bates mom said, “The rewards of having a spouse that’s truly a BEST FRIEND, that adores you & sticks with you no matter what is so PRICELESS!”

Later, Gil and Kelly shared a video, as well as a few pictures of their special anniversary dinner. This year, they decided to have a romantic date night at home, which is something they did many years ago when they couldn’t afford to hire a babysitter. Their oldest son, Zach Bates, came over to prepare their meal, which included grilled steak and salmon. The couple seemed very happy about their special home date night.

In the comments section of Gil and Kelly’s new anniversary Instagram posts, fans are wishing them a happy anniversary. It looks like many fans admire their relationship and are amazed by all they have accomplished.
Several of Gil and Kelly’s kids commented to wish their parents a happy anniversary too. Lawson Bates’ wife Tiffany Espensen sweetly wrote, “Your note is so sweet and rings true for all married couples!”
