Uzumaki Is Another Of Junji Ito’s Anime Adaptation For Toonami
The picture of Junji Ito’s headless crew was shared on Netflix Anime’s official Twitter account. The poster is from the episode The Strange Hikizuri Siblings and the focus of this skin-crawling horror depiction is a family with members that are missing their heads.

However, this isn’t the only anime adaptation by Junji Ito that is currently in the works. Toonami is developing his highly-anticipated series, Uzumaki. Unlike Maniac, Uzumaki isn’t an anthology. As per ComicBook, the series focuses on a single tale that takes place in a remote mountain town. Not just that, Uzumaki will also work around the creator’s obsession with creating spine-chilling spiral narratives. This would make the creepy tale frequent and fast getting rid of any possible boredom.
What Is The Uzumaki Anime Series About?
Although Ito’s dynamic creativity is difficult to mimic in a TV anime series, a delay was inevitable. However, the series was also delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It follows Kirie Goshima, a high-school teenager, her boyfriend, and the citizens of a quiet and small Japanese town called Kurouzu-Cho. However, the town is cursed by supernatural events, which you see play out in the anime.
