‘The View’ Sunny Hostin Switches Gears, Attacks Joy Behar?

The View host Sunny Hostin switched gears. She attacked Joy Behar this time around. For much of Season 26, she’s come for newcomer Alyssa Farah Griffin. The two would often go head-to-head when it comes to politics.

Fans got tired of the two arguing because of their opposing views. In a switching turn of events, Sunny threw her co-host Joy under the bus. Joy is a Democrat like Sunny. However, Sunny couldn’t help but throw a dig at her co-host during a live moment on the talk show.

Is Joy Behar the new enemy?

On Tuesday’s broadcast of The View, Sunny Hostin came for Joy Behar during an awkward interview. The panel invited comedian Steve Martin and Harry Bliss to discuss their new book, A Wealth of Pigeons. The Only Murders in the Building star shared a story about when he met former First Lady Jackie Onassis.

Joy Behar remembered the time when he starred in a Broadway play called Waiting for Godot, which also starred the late actor Robin Williams. She excitedly shared that the entire cast “were invited to Jackie O’s apartment for a pre-opening party.” Joy asked the Father of the Bride star to share the rest of the story.

“We’re at this party at Jackie Onassis’ house, so I’m talking to Jackie and she said, ‘I can’t wait to see your play,'” Steve explained to the audience. “And me being a naive idiot said, ‘Well, you better hurry because tickets are going fast.’ And she said, ‘Oh, I think I’ll be alright.'”

The entire panel burst out in laughter. Co-host Sunny Hostin mentioned that Jackie O would get people to listen to her by whispering. The self-proclaimed “Jackie O fanatic” confessed that she’s “read every book on her.” Joy Behar shared with a smile that she could never do that.

Sunny Hostin corrected her: “No, that’s beside the point.” Joy paid no attention to her shade. Steve asked Joy if she ever spoke in a whisper. She claimed that she did. Steve joked that she had a “nice whisper” during “the Hot Topics meeting.”

Is Sunny Hostin too harsh?

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Sunny Hostin has come across as harsh. During the most stressful day of the year, the 2022 midterm elections, she sparred with Alyssa. The two ladies argued for several minutes. Alyssa recalled a time when Sunny compared Trump voters to “cockroaches.”

There was also another moment when Sunny Hostin was upset during a conversation about body acceptance. The conversation started with a report where Michelle Obama said she had to deal with constant comments about her looks as a First Lady. Sunny called her “one of the most vilified first ladies in history,” while Joy argued with her and said that title goes to “Eleanor Roosevelt.”
