Amber Heard disappeared from Twitter. This comes after Elon Musk’s reign on the social media app. He acquired Twitter for $44 billion on Thursday, October 27. At the time, he joked that he was “overpaying” for the company.

On the heels of his Twitter takeover, Elon fired the top two executives. He reportedly plans to fire even more employees. Now, celebrities and public figures will have to pay $8 a month to have a verification checkmark on the social media platform. In lieu of the timing, Amber is no longer on Twitter.

At the time of this writing, Amber Heard is no longer on Twitter. Her account has disappeared from the social media site. Several reports claim that her profile was deactivated on Thursday, November 3, just one week after Elon took over the social media site.

The screen now reads, “This account doesn’t exist” when you visit Amber Heard’s Twitter profile. The actress still has an account on Instagram. She currently has over 5.3 million followers. Amber’s most recent post on Instagram is her statement from June 1 about the verdict in her defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Since then, she hasn’t been present on social media. The Gully star has appeared in a few sit-down interviews since the news of the verdict. However, Amber’s movie career stalled amid the verdict. Most of Hollywood sided with Johnny Depp while Amber only received a handful of support.

The most recent supporter was a singer-songwriter, Phoebe Bridgers. The indie rock musician shared her support for Amber Heard in an interview with Teen Vogue. She called the verdict “disgusting” and said the whole situation was “so upsetting to her.” Phoebe also called out the “fandom war” that it caused on social media. While cancel culture made some progress over the years, Phoebe feels that more people should be held accountable for their actions.

Is ex-boyfriend Elon Musk to blame?

Elon Musk previously dated Amber Heard after her split from Johny Depp. Some fans wonder if he had something to do with taking down her Twitter account. The exes ended their relationship in August 2017. Elon’s rep said at the time that the two “didn’t start seeing each other until after May 2016, and even then it was infrequent.”

Amber Heard and Elon were only casually dating. Their relationship “didn’t become romantic until some time later.” In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in December 2018, Amber said they “had a beautiful relationship” and now they “have a beautiful friendship.”

The two still share a respect for one another. It’s highly possible that Elon had nothing to do with Amber Heard’s Twitter account.
