Has ‘Welcome To Plathville’ Season 5 Filming Begun?
Is Welcome to Plathville Season 5 in the works yet? Viewers are eager to catch back up with the Plath family and see what drama lies ahead. But at this point, the show hasn’t officially been renewed. Keep reading for everything known about the show’s future so far.
Welcome to Plathville Season 4 came to an end back in August. After a wild and intense ride, the season ended on a fairly positive note with a family trip to the river. Afterward, several Plath family members issued statements on the finale.
A couple of months have passed and fans are wondering what’s next. Until now, viewers hadn’t heard anything about the future of the show. Now, it’s been revealed whether a new season is in the works.
Has Welcome to Plathville Season 5 filming begun?
On Reddit this week, one user in the Welcome to Plathville snarkers subreddit shared a photo that seemed to confirm that filming is starting back up. The photo featured several film crew members outdoors with all of their equipment. The text on the post reads:
“Well y’all. It’s official! We start filming the 5th season next week!”
In a comment, the person who posted the photo said it was posted to Lydia Plath’s “subscriber only Insta Stories” on Wednesday, October 19. Instagram has a feature where users can offer subscriptions and share additional content with their paid subscribers. Not everyone can access these posts, which is why you may not find this post on Lydia’s profile.
You can see the photo below. Note that the username is cropped out, so there’s no way to confirm that this was posted by Lydia.
Does this mean the show will return to TLC?
Though she’s on a different show Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff revealed to fans that TLC was filming the next season three months before the renewal news broke. At that point, she couldn’t confirm whether the show would be renewed though. Of course, fans would assume that filming is a good sign that the show will return. LPBW has since been renewed, so this may hint at what’s ahead for the Plaths.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully, an official announcement will come out soon.
