OG Below Deck “Stud of Sea” shares his regrets
During BravoCon 2022, Kate spoke to all five captains in the same room. The Below Deck captains talked about their firing regrets. Captain Lee Rosbach might be a brutal captain, but even he has a heart. He admitted that he had regrets about firing a “sweet” person.
“Yeah, I really regretted having to fire [Andrew] Sturby,” Captain Lee Rosbach says, as quoted by BravoTV.com. “Because he was such a sweet kid… He tried so hard, he just couldn’t close the deal.”
Captain Lee recalled that moment from Season 2 of Below Deck. Kate was part of the crew at the time. She admitted that he “just left that porthole open.” Andrew made the mistake of leaving his porthole open, which caused flooding in his cabin and the rest of the floor.
Of course, Andrew wasn’t the first one to get fired. Many have been fired along the way. During that panel, Captain Lee also shared the difficult decision he made after he announced that he was joining the show. He was told that it would be the end of his career. Critics informed Captain Lee that he wouldn’t be taken seriously as a yacht captain.
Captain Lee Rosbach almost didn’t join the Bravo series
Captain Lee Rosbach has been part of nine successful seasons of the series. However, he received a warning about joining the show for the first time. Captain Sandy explained that the yachting industry frowned upon the idea of a reality show. Both of them were met with critics.
“I’m like, ‘Well, that really happens in our industry,’ and I think they didn’t like it because it really showed what really happened,” Captain Lee Rosbach explained.
The seasoned captain teased what fans can expect on Season 10 of Below Deck. He admitted that they will get to see him “do something I’ve never done before.” This is something that’s never happened in any Below Deck series. The sneak peek came out during BravoCon 2022 and it gave fans a bad feeling about Captain Lee Rosbach’s future on the show.
