Mike Flanagan has seen a lot of success with Netflix in the past. From The Haunting Of Bly Manor to The Haunting of Hill House, he has created some exceptional horror-thriller series in the past.

The Midnight Club Is Based On A Novel By Christopher Pike
This series is the first Mike Flanagan creation that isn’t a limited series. So, there certainly is hope for a second season. The Midnight Club debuted on Netflix on October 7, 2022. However, it is too early to say if Netflix will take a positive or negative decision regarding the show’s future.

This teen horror series is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Christopher Pike. As per What’s On Netflix, it is also the fourth Netflix Original series by Flanagan & his sixth overall project for Netflix.
Flanagan is a popular name in the horror genre. So, understandably fans have waited for his latest series ever since the project was announced in May 2020.
Will The Midnight Club Be Renewed By Netflix?
The series trails a group of terminally ill teenage patients that reside at the Rotterdam Home. Together, they create The Midnight Club. They meet every night at midnight to share horror stories. More so, they form a pack that whoever dies first would make an effort to contact others from the club as a spirit.

Netflix hasn’t yet provided any information on the renewal status of the series. The show has been on for less than a week, so, it is too early to tell the status of its renewal or cancellation. Ultimately, the final decision will only be taken after gauging the show’s performance, which for now seems at the higher end.
Mike Flanagan’s Latest Netflix Series Had A Weak Opening
Even after winning a Guinness World Record for most jump scares in a single episode, the series saw one of the weakest weekend openings on the streaming platform. As per official data, it scored a mere 18.79M hours of watch time globally. In comparison, The Lincoln Lawyer scores 45.09M watch time in its first three days. Similarly, The Sandman scored 69.48M watch time over the weekend. However, given that it made it to Netflix’s Top 10 list, there is a high probability that the show will see a big jump in watch time as it enters its second week.

Given that the show ended with a cliffhanger, there is a high chance that the show has Season 2 on the cards.
