Carlin Bates Silences Rumors She’s Feuding With Sister Josie
Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates Stewart might have had enough of the rumors about her feuding with her sister, Josie Bates Balka. Carlin appears to be silencing the rumors with her latest comment. So, what did she say?
If you didn’t know, fans have been speculating online about the possibility of Josie and Carlin feuding. It’s unclear what exactly started these rumors. But fans have picked up on little hints here and there.
They noticed that Josie’s hair accessory shop is now carrying jewelry, but Carlin’s boutique also sells jewelry. So, some fans think the girls are competing or that Josie completely copied Carlin. Other fans noticed that the girls go to the same church but seldom interact with each other there. In general, fans don’t really see them together these days.
So, fans are convinced that Carlin Bates Stewart and Josie Bates Balka had some type of falling out. Until now, the sisters hadn’t really addressed these rumors and seemed to just ignore them.

As TV Shows Ace reported, Carlin and her husband, Evan Stewart, had a little Q&A session on YouTube this weekend. One fan asked why Effortless Beauty, Josie’s online store, isn’t ever at the Bates Sisters Boutique Cash and Carry events.
Carlin and Whitney run the Bates Sisters Boutique, and in the past, they have hosted Cash and Carry events. They sell items from the boutique there and other family members often make appearances. Typically, there is a meet and greet with Kelly and Gil Bates, while Michael Bates sells her handmade baby items. Lawson Bates has also performed and sold merchandise there.
Interestingly, Josie hasn’t sold her hair accessories there, which has only fueled the feud rumors. During Evan Stewart and Carlin Bates’ Q&A, they revealed why Effortless Beauty doesn’t attend the Cash and Carry events.
Carlin explained, “So we definitely invite all of the family businesses and anyone that wants to participate, but I’m sure, like schedule-wise, or like, conflict with weddings. But we’d definitely love to have them next year.”
In addition to selling hair accessories, Josie’s company does hair and makeup for weddings and other events. Since Cash and Carry events have been on Saturdays in the past, this likely conflicts with many of Josie’s bookings.
Evan chimed in and agreed that it’s hard with weddings.
