Vanessa Hudgens wants to document her journey into spiritual witchcraft. The High School Musical alum and her best friend, GG Magree, invited cameras into their journey to Salem, Massachusetts. Bunin-Murray created the new 90-minute documentary that’s titled Dead Hot.

It’s a cross between The Craft and The Simple Life. While it’s serving fierce gothic looks and cracking funny jokes, Vanessa wants to share another side of herself. She’s using this film to tap into her inner witch. The former Disney star always felt that she had magical powers ever since she was a little girl, but she was afraid to use them.

Former HSM star goes on a spiritual journey

At first, Vanessa Hudgens was hesitant about the idea. She was scared of tapping into witchcraft because it can be scary to toy with the unknown. However, Vanessa wants to lean into her gift and ability to do magic. Vanessa and GG have been doing spells ever since they were kids.

They wanted to document their findings in the new film. The documentary is described on the official Instagram as an “intimate journey into the supernatural realm” that’s also a “coming-of-age story that explores identity, feminine power, and sisterhood.” The BFFs travel to Salem to learn about ghost hunting, witchcraft, and how to connect with the spirit world.

“It’s a lot about self-love, and them finding their inner strength and power,” Julie Pizzi, president of Bunim-Murray told Variety.

Vanessa Hudgens loves to go ghost hunting. She will use a “spirit box,” which picks up “radio frequencies really quickly.” The Princess Switch star says it helps “spirits speak through it.” This project has been a long time coming for the former child star.

Back in 2011, she revealed that she was visited by a ghost while she was filmed in North Carolina. Vanessa couldn’t help but chase the ghost around the old location. She was too scared so she left. Vanessa explained that it was a “female spirit” who was missing her husband.

Do spirits communicate with Vanessa Hudgens?

Vanessa Hudgens previously made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The Tick, Tick … Boom! star said she always had an interest in the spiritual world. Vanessa told host Kelly Clarkson that she had “a lot” of interaction with spirits over the years. The actress has learned to accept that she can communicate with them.

“I remember getting ready for school when I was 8 years old, and there was … You know those ducks [toys] that you pull [the string]?” Vanessa Hudgens explained. “There was one of those on the dining room table, and I started walking, and it just started going alongside me.”
