Mario Cantone gets snarky with Sara Haines
Mario made his appearance at the round table. He looked around at the co-hosts. Mario couldn’t help himself as he poked fun at Sara’s hairstyle. She wore her hair pinned back in a bouffant style with strands around her face.
As the audience cheered, Mario said to Sara Haines, “Oh ladies… Oh, I love your Sharon Tate, Valley of the Dolls beehive, that’s fantastic!”
Sara showed off her hair some more by turning her head around for the audience. She was a trooper about Mario’s joke. She put her hands near her head as she showed off her hairstyle. The crowd cheered as she said “Thank you!” and her eyes darted back to the table. She looked uncomfortable after the moment happened.
“Oh my God, I’m Neely O’Hara!” Mario added, referencing a line from the movie.
Co-host Sunny Hostin looked at him confused. She had no idea what he was talking about. Moderator Joy Behar filled in for Whoopi Goldberg. She informed Mario that Ana Navarro wanted to tell him something.
“I don’t even want to stop you, your soliloquy is so good!” she exclaimed.
The audience continued to cheer for Mario. However, fans weren’t impressed with his joke about Sara Haines’ hairdo. The conversation ended up on The View’s Facebook page. Some argued that Mario was only saying what people were thinking, while others argued that he was too “loud” for the show.
- “Folks saying about Sara’s hair or beehive, and Mario mentions!”
- “Personally, I cannot tolerate Mario and had to turn off his segment. He’s loud, abrasive, and not remotely funny.”
- “He’s been on the show 152 times too many. Loud and corny.”
The View fans mixed over SaTC star
There were some fans of The View who were defensive of the actor. One wrote: “Love me some Mario Cantone!” Another fan suggested that the show needs him more for his sense of humor alone. However, some think that he’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.
“I think you either like him or you don’t. There is no in-between… Yes, he is over the top, and that is fine with me,” a third The View fan wrote. “He is comfortable in his own skin and that’s a great place to be at.”
Mario is a longtime friend of Joy Behar. What are your thoughts on his joke about Sara’s hair? Who’s your favorite guest on The View? Sound off below in the comment section.

I cannot tolerate The View, they’re all big mouth, obnoxious women who insult every single republican on a daily basis. They’re not funny, just vicious & I cannot understand how a major network is ok with this behavior. I haven’t watched it in decades, if I am browsing channels there is not a time if I happen to pass abc & the view is on, whoever is on is bashing a republican. Obviously my only takeaway is, you’re biased against anyone who is not a democrat & I wouldn’t dream of turning on one program on your disgraceful network. Shame on everyone of you, you wreak. Barbara Walters as well as
the original cast would be heartbroken if they have seen this once funny, wonderful way to start your morning has drifted into the abyss of nothing other than hatred of half or more of the country..shame on everyone who participates in spewing so much anger towards their fellow humans. I guess money outweighs any kind of humanity!
Love the ladies of the VIEW, if you don’t like them move onto FOX.
This Is his shtig. He is like Don Rickles.

Sara Haines took it in stride.
