‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Shares Surprising Co-Host Replacement Choice
Kelly Ripa has sat beside her fair share of co-hosts over the years. Ryan Seacrest being her most recent co-host. As those who watch Live With Kelly And Ryan know, Ryan took the seat beside Kelly back in 2017 after she had a massive fallout with her previous co-host Michael Strahan. Truthfully, most fans agree Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa vibe so well on the set. So, some fans tend to forget he wasn’t her first co-host on the show. Moreover, some fans have a hard time picturing anyone other than Ryan Seacrest sitting next to her on the show.
During Thursday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, however, Kelly Ripa was asked by fans who she would like to see in that co-host slot if Ryan wasn’t there. Did she have her eyes on anyone as a potential replacement for Ryan if he ever stopped hosting the show with her? While there is no reason to think Ryan Seacrest is being replaced on the show any time soon, Kelly Ripa was still happy to speculate on who she might like to see sitting in the chair next to her.
Who does Kelly Ripa want to replace Ryan Seacrest?
Kelly Ripa was pretty quick to make fans aware of the fact that she had very little to do with deciding who sat in the chair next to her. She noted it was a “deeper discussion” that didn’t have much to do with her opinions on the matter. If she had all the power to decide, she admits she would love seeing Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper, or even her husband Mark Conseulos sitting in the seat next to her. She, however, proceeded to acknowledge that all three of these options currently have jobs. So being her co-host wasn’t actually in the cards for any of them.
Andy Cohen proposed the possibility of a second female co-host by reminding KElly she once implied she would love to have a female co-host. Kelly Ripa admitted she would work with another woman on the show “in a heartbeat.” Again, however, she doubled down on it not being a decision she made.
She added: “But I have always found the idea of two women hosting a show very appealing.”
Kelly jokingly added another female on the show would give her someone to “share the blame” with.
As fans recall, the late Regis Philbin was Kelly Ripa’s first co-host.
