Aniplex Fest 2022: ‘Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai’
Aniplex has officially announced the sequel to Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai. The TV series-turned-film has been awaiting a sequel for several years, and now there are finally a few details available. Here is everything that was revealed at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022.
Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai
For anyone not familiar with Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai, it is a television anime series based on graphic novels by Hajime Kamoshida. The original series premiered in Japan in October 2018 and follows Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student who unexpectedly runs into a teenage actress, Mai Sakurajima.

Later, Aniplex added it to Crunchyroll and Funimation to be available to stream. After a successful 13-episode run, the series received a film adaptation that would follow up where the TV series left off. It animated the sixth and seventh novels. Fans have been wondering if they will see another sequel.
It was confirmed at Aniplex 2022 that Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai would receive a sequel and that it was in production.
Aniplex Fest 2022 Confirms Sequel Film
Following the official announcement during the online festival, Aniplex shared a teaser trailer on Twitter. This confirmed that the sequel would be about Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Girl, two graphic novels from the Seishun Buta Yarō series by Hajime Kamoshida.
It was also confirmed that the creative team from the first film will be returning for the sequel. Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai will be directed by Sōichi Masui. Satomi Tamura will continue to work on character design while Masahiro Yokotani will return to handle composition and script.

Most of the cast will be returning for the sequel as well. Kaito Ishikawa will reprise his role as Sakuta Azusagawa. Asami Seto will voice Mai Sakurajima and Yurika Kubo will return as Kaede Azusagawa. Other individuals returning for the sequel include Atsumi Tanezaki as the voice of Rio Futaba, Inori Minase returning as Shōko Makinohara, Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama, and Nao Tōyama will return to provide a voice for Tome Koga.
Each member of the voice talent involved in Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai has an impressive resume to back up their skills. Kaito Ishikawa (Sakuta Azusagawa) is also known for voicing Genos in One Punch Man. Nao Tōyama and Yurika Kubo are both J-pop idols with blossoming careers as voice actors. However, they have both worked on a number of other voice projects already.
