Taylor Swift Says No To Super Bowl?
Taylor Swift said no to the Super Bowl. Over the weekend, the singer has made headlines for a possible Halftime Show performance in 2023. Swift’s name started trending on Twitter because of it. She’s just one of the many pop stars who never got to perform on the Super Bowl stage.
However, Swift’s team immediately shut down the rumors. According to them, the “Willow” singer can’t perform her back catalog of songs. She’s still in the process of re-recording her first six albums, which could take years. So far, Swift has only released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version).
Does she still have a contract with Coca-Cola?
The theory that Taylor Swift could headline the Super Bowl went out the window. Fans recall that she still has a contract with Coca-Cola. Pepsi sponsors the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Even though she’s one of the biggest acts in the country, this would be a conflict of interest.
However, that all changed when Adam Schefter announced that Apple Music is the new official sponsor of the Super Bowl. That means Pepsi no longer sponsors the show. Under this new sponsor, Taylor Swift could be the 2023 performer. Over the years, she has been sponsored by Coca-Cola, which is Pepsi’s competitor.
NFL is announcing Apple Music as the new partner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. “We are proud to welcome Apple Music to the NFL family as our new partner for the iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show," said Nana-Yaw Asamoah, SVP of Partner Strategy for the NFL.

Now that Pepsi is no longer involved with the Halftime Show, Swift could perform if she wanted to without breaking her contract. The interesting thing is that Schefter shared this news at midnight, the same time of night that’s associated with Swift’s upcoming album, Midnights. She’s been teasing a lot of news at that time.
This led to the rumors that Swift could be headlining the Super Bowl to promote her new album. It would be a smart way to do it. The NFL typically announces the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer by October. In just a few weeks, fans will find out if the rumors are true.
Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.

Taylor Swift can’t perform at the Super Bowl?
However, according to Taylor Swift’s team told TMZ that she still can’t perform at the Super Bowl. There’s another problem. She turned it down because she can’t perform her original music. The Super Bowl execs wanted to know if the “Cardigan” singer would headline. Swift can’t perform until she re-records all of her six albums.
That means she can’t perform her hit songs like “Shake It Off,” “Endgame,” and “Ready For It,” all of which would be ideal for the Super Bowl crowd. Taylor Swift would love to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, Scooter Braun still has rights to her first six albums, which he acquired in 2019. Braun sold the master recordings, and the singer has promised to re-record her old music.
She can’t re-record 1989 because of her ongoing legal battle over “Shake It Off,” per Billboard. She was accused of taking the lyrics “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” from the 2001 song “Playas Gon’ Play” by the girl group 3LW. Also, Swift can’t even start work on re-recording Reputation until November 2022, per Rolling Stone.
Fans were hoping to get a re-release of Speak Now later this year. However, the singer is focused on promoting Midnights. What are your thoughts on the theory of Taylor Swift headlining the Super Bowl? Do you think it’ll happen? Sound off below in the comment section.
