‘DWTS’: Vinny Guadagnino Feels The Judges Underscored Him

Vinny Guadagnino may have experience with Chippendales, but ballroom dance is a completely different beast. The Jersey Shore star previously said he was depending on his Chippendales experience to help, but it didn’t seem like that was the case after the first week on DWTS.

Despire his low score, fans felt that he and his partner Koko Iwasaki worked really hard on their routine. Maybe the judges really are too harsh this year.

Vinny Guadagnino defends his performance after receiving low scores

During the first night, Koko and Vinny performed a Salsa routine to “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny. It was clear that they worked hard in the rehearsal room, but the judges just weren’t feeling it. They walked away with a combined total score of 17 points — the lowest of the night. Even Jason Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd earned a score of 18, and the judges eliminated them at the end of the night.

Koko and Vinny didn’t exactly impress the judges, but fans liked their performance.

“I’m not gonna say anything — you can go read the comments though,” Vinny told Us Weekly after his performance. “The Twitter world is talking right now — little justice for Vinny going on here, but I can’t be mad at it because, like, I don’t control that. That’s what they say. I’m definitely not a technical dancer. So if they’re gonna look at all the technique, technical things, like, I definitely have room for improvement, but the fans came out to vote and that’s what’s most important. I’ve really felt the love this week more than like a lot of times ever in my career doing this.”

The 34-year-old reality TV star went on to say that he feels like the underdog right now. And every Dancing With The Stars fan knows exactly what happened last year. Iman Shumpert wasn’t a strong contender in the beginning but made it abundantly clear by Halloween Night that he intended to win. He ended up being the first NBA star to even make it to the final four — and then walked away with the Mirrorball Trophy at the end of the season.

Can the Jersey Shore star bounce back next week?

Koko Iwasaki may be a first-time pro, but she’s determined to help Vinny level up his dance abilities. Vinny’s costar Snooki revealed she gave him a few tips to succeed in the competition.

The reality TV star might have been a little rough around the edges on the first night, but here are still plenty of episodes left in the season. Fans will just have to wait and see what he brings during Elvis Night.

Elvis Night starts at 8 PM eastern time this Monday on Disney+. Don’t forget to tune in and vote for Vinny and Koko if you want them to stick around for another week!
