‘Bad Hair Day’ Dr. Lopez Details Lady Descaling Entire Scalp
TLC viewers are going absolutely wild for Bad Hair Day, the newest medical show on the platform. Patients come to the Bad Hair Day team looking for help with a variety of hair-related issues. And some of the conditions are truly remarkable and surprising. Fans love the new show and believe it’s really going to help people — and educate viewers too.
But what happens when the show’s Dr. Lopez encounters a patient with larger-than-life scalp issues? Keep reading to see.
A Bad Hair Day guest uses her condition to boost her online following
This season on Bad Hair Day, fans will get to know Raven, a patient living with pretty severe psoriasis. The Mayo Clinic describes psoriasis as, “a common, long-term (chronic) disease with no cure. It can be painful, interfere with sleep and make it hard to concentrate. The condition tends to go through cycles, flaring for a few weeks or months, then subsiding for a while. Common triggers in people with a genetic predisposition to psoriasis include infections, cuts or burns, and certain medications.”
Raven’s condition is so bad that it’s actually impacting her hair growth. She shared videos of herself descaling her psoriasis with Dr. Lopez, who expressed concern. According to the doctor, Raven is actually making her condition worse when she continues to descale herself.
“Dr. Lopez’s patient has severe psoriasis…but is she unconsciously making it even worse for views?” the official TLC Instagram account shared online.
“Ouch! Poor thing I hope they can help her 😢” one viewer wrote in the comments. Others felt shocked and surprised that Raven would continue descaling online for YouTube views.Â

The doctors see a wide variety of fascinating cases in their examination rooms
Raven’s psoriasis is definitely concerning, but it’s not the only shocking case that the Bad Hair Day doctors have seen this season. In another recent episode, Dr. Lopez tackled a melon-sized growth on the back of a patient’s neck. The patient reported that he’d let the growth get bigger for the past 14 or 15 years. Dr. Lopez’s eyes grew wide when she finally examined it.
Although the cases on Bad Hair Day can be surprising, fans are excited to see what the doctors handle next. It doesn’t seem as if there are any cases that are too big or too small for the team to handle.
