Deon Derrico Goes Back To His Roots
Doubling Down With the Derricos star Deon Derrico is heading back to his roots. He took fans along for the ride and shared many photos as he took a trip down memory lane. Keep reading for all of the details.
Recently, Deon has been sharing lots of photos on social media to let fans know what is going on with his family. He recently celebrated his mom, GG’s birthday. Now, he’s revisiting his past.
Deon Derrico shares details about his hometown
In an Instagram post, Deon announced to fans that he’s back in Detroit, Michigan, which is where he grew up. Karen Derrico is from Kingstree, South Carolina. Today, the couple and their many kids live in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now, he and his family are enjoying a fun trip together back to Detroit. The TLC star wrote, “All 18, of us are traveling across country we are always Lit 🔥 visiting me, and GG’s aka @marian.derrico Hometown of Detroit, MI. There is absolutely NO place like Home.”

The whole family goes back to his roots
On the trip to Detroit, Deon took many pictures and shared them with fans on Instagram. In one post, the Derricos went to check out Comerica Park. You can see a photo below.
In another snap, the Derrico family is standing outside of a fence. Behind the fence is a huge slide. Deon wrote, “Hanging out at Belle Isle, the now famous Giant Slide, that I grew up riding on most of my childhood in #Detroit.”
Unfortunately, Deon Derrico didn’t get a chance to relive the good old days because the slide was not open.
It looks like this trip will be featured in the new season of Doubling Down With the Derricos. When a fan commented and welcomed Deon and his family to Detroit, he opened up and said:
“I’m from The D!!! And it’s even more beautiful than it was from the last time I was there you’re going to love the Detroit episode!! The Motor City, is such a hidden Gem.”
