Britney Spears Reacts To Son’s Comments On Their Relationship
Britney Spears had her conservatorship lifted after several years, and has since shut out most of her family. However, the backlash also estranged her from her two sons, Jayden and Sean. Jayden has spoken out about their relationship.
After Jayden’s comments were made public, Britney took to social media to deliver her feelings, which might explain why her son is having so much trouble wanting to reconnect with his mom.
What did Jayden say about Britney Spears?
Jayden, 15, and Preston, 16, refused to attend their mother’s wedding, and he has explained why they made that choice in an interview with ITV News (via E! Online). According to Jayden, “I’m not saying that I’m not happy for her. I’m really happy for them. But she didn’t invite the whole family and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”
However, the interview continued and Jayden made some pointed comments backing up what Kevin Federline said about the boys being uncomfortable with their mom’s posts on social media. While many people looked at Britney’s dancing and nudity on Instagram, Jayden said there was a bigger problem.
“It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get some attention,” Jayden said. “This has gone on for years and years and years and there’s a high chance that this will never stop but I’m hoping for me that she will stop.”
He said one of the biggest problems is posting photos of him and Preston. Jayden said Preston asked her not to post photos of him online. “[Preston] asked my mother not to post his photos, and she did it anyway,” Jayden says. “So it didn’t go well.”
Jayden also spoke about Britney’s relationship with her dad, Jamie, who he and Preston also do not see anymore. Jayden said his grandfather did what he felt was best for Britney as her dad, and that his mother “is “ceasing to realize how much [Jamie] cares for her.”
However, Jayden also said their relationship is not beyond repair, but it will take a lot of work. But, for now, he is remaining with his dad, which he said is his safe place. “I 100 percent think this can be fixed,” Jayden said. “It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again.”
Britney responds to son’s comments
Jayden has a problem with Britney using social media to air dirt about the family. However, his mom took to Instagram to comment on his interview. In a post on Thursday, Britney said “it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations as a mother.”
Britney posted, “I’ve tried my best at being the best person I can be … to be basically held hostage in homes under nurses and bulls**t I hope my kids one day understand my reasoning of my play in water revealing myself as any woman would being held under blankets and supervision under the conservatorship.”
She said she would love her kids “every day for the rest of my life” and her “love for my children has no boundaries.” She finished by asking Jayden to “explain to me why our family would do that to anyone,” concerning her conservatorship.
