‘General Hospital’ Chloe Lanier Back As Nelle Benson
General Hospital has a familiar face returning to the land of Port Charles. Chloe Lanier is stepping back into the role of Nelle Benson. The actress last played the part in 2020. So, when should fans expect to see her back on their television screens? Read on for more details.
Chloe Makes Her Grand Return To General Hospital As Nelle
It has been two years since Chloe Lanier left her role as Nelle Benson on the long-running ABC soap opera. Now, she is back. According to Soap Opera Digest, Lanier will reprise the part beginning next week. Yes, it is happening that fast so this has been a very well-kept secret. How does Chloe feel about jumping back into Nelle’s shoes after two years away? Chloe shared how she prepared herself to start up in the part once again and it did not seem as easy as riding a bike.
“I was looking at videos of Nelle online for days, like, ‘It has been two years since I had played this role. What did I even do? What were my speech patterns? How did I walk as Nelle?’ All of these things that were once so clicked-in for me, I had totally forgotten how to do, but hopefully it translated and I was able to slip back into character the way I did it before. I’m hoping!” This is not the first time Chloe has popped back up in the role.
How Long Will Nelle Be Back For?
When Chloe first started at General Hospital, she was Nelle from 2016 to 2018. She then was put on recurring until 2020 when she officially departed the role. As for how long she will be back this time around, it is unknown. However, it is not expected to be a long time which will surely be a bummer for fans of Nelle. She is not only a fan favorite but also a well-respected actress. The role garnered her three Daytime Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
Lanier finally took home the gold in 2018. Her return may lead her to come back for another extended run but that is up in the air. The series has already lost two beloved cast members over the year. Steve Burton and Ingo Rademacher were both let go for not following vaccine protocols. Therefore, it will be great for fans to see a familiar face, even for a short time.

I think this would be a big mistake to bring Nelle back she will just cause so much pain to Port Charles, why are the writers doing this.
