Will Netflix & Crunchyroll Compete In The Future?
Lately, Netflix has been aggressively working on the marketing of its anime content. Moreover, Kohei Obara, Netflix’s director of anime, earlier stated that half of its global subscribers watched anime on their platform in 2021.

This expansion can be a game changer for Netflix which lost almost a million subscribers between April and July 2022. Given how focused Netflix is on expanding its domain in the anime content world, it could mean that Crunchyroll might have to face major competition in the future.
In the past, Crunchyroll took a big game-changing decision by acquiring popular anime retailer Right Stuf. Furthermore, this decision to stream new anime movies in September could be a move to curb its competition.
