Carlin & Evan release a new video

On Saturday, Carlin and Evan shared a new video on their YouTube channel. In the video, much of the focus is on Carlin’s ongoing health issues. If you didn’t know, she has been having seizure-like episodes for the past few months. At this point, she is still seeking answers but has had many appointments.

In the video, Carlin and Evan go to an appointment and take fans along on other errands.

On Reddit, fans are discussing the new video, and one scene, in particular, has them concerned for Layla.

On Reddit, Bringing Up Bates fans have a lot to say about two-year-old Layla witnessing these episodes. Carlin’s brother, Zach, and his wife, Whitney, were also present when this specific episode occurred, so fans are wondering why one of them didn’t walk away with Layla.

One fan writes, “I feel so bad for Layla witnessing this.”

Other Bringing Up Bates fans can relate to Layla having a parent with health issues. One fan calls it “awful” while someone else says, “My mom had seizures and a whole host of other illnesses while I was growing up and it caused me to have major anxiety to the point I started treatment at 6 years old. I really hope her children don’t face these same struggles.”

  1. If you were paying close enough attention to the video,when she was about 1/2 way through it,Evan was distracting Layla.Go watch it again,it’s about the time her hands really start shaking.

    1. Yes, they were trying to distract her and I have to say I was super impressed with how calm Evan was talking to everyone and staying very peaceful around Layla while trying to distract her. Yes, it is sad but this wonderful family is being so strong and doing very well dealing with everything while raising 2 precious babies!

  2. No need to feel sorry for Layla.
    I sm sure she is aware of her mother’s problem. It is so important to explain the illness,tell them not to worry.
