George Stephanopoulos Calls Robin Roberts Young & Hungry?
Rumors of a feud between Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos have been fueled further by recent comments made on air. Stephanopoulos reportedly mocked a video of his colleague. Fans began to point out how tensions between the two have become apparent again. Keep reading to hear why Stephanopoulos called Roberts “young and hungry.”
History Of Tension Between The Two
Last year, there is said to have been tension between Stephanopoulos and Roberts after a sexual assault allegation was made against a Good Morning America producer. During this time, there was a company-wide call to address the matter.
Kirsty Crawford filed an appeal to her sexual harassment lawsuit against ABC and former network producer Michael Corn on June 14, 2021. Crawford had worked for ABC for eight years and was working with Stephanopoulos when the suit was filed.
At the time, Robin Roberts, the lead anchor on the show, is reported to have said, “If this happened to someone on my team, I would have burned the place down.” Other staff members believed this remark to have been directed at George Stephanopoulos.

Staffers said that Stephanopoulos became angry when he learned about what Roberts had said. When asked about the incident, an ABC network representative stated, “Robin and George are fine. She told him personally that she wasn’t referring to him and called the team the next day to reiterate that her comment was not about any one individual.”
However, it has been made clear that Robin didn’t agree with how the network or George handled the situation. Although they have publicly stated that there aren’t any problems between them, actions on air seem to tell a different story.
George Stephanopoulos Jabs At Robin
On Wednesday, Robin shared an old clip of herself from 1984. She was hardly recognizable on the screen, singing and dancing. Stephanopoulos scoffed at this and asked his co-host, “You were young and hungry huh?”
It was clear that Robin Roberts was embarrassed by the comment he made and said, “I needed the money George, I needed the money. I can’t believe you said that.”
The anchor also noted that she’d just told her colleagues about the clip during the commercial break. So, there wasn’t much time given for Stephanopoulos to come up with something to say.
Fellow co-host Lara Spencer said, “Guess what, you shouldn’t have done that.”
Later on the same day, Robin shared the clip to her Instagram page continuing the apparent feud between herself and Stephanopoulos.
“Talk about waaaaay back Wednesday,” she wrote in the caption, “It was 1984 and yes @gstephanopoulos I was young and hungry!!”

Fans were quick to note the jab at her co-host. “I’ve never seen Robin with ‘I’m gonna murder you in your sleep’ eyes before,” one person commented. Another said that they hoped similar old footage of Stephanopoulos resurfaces.
