Former ‘DWTS’ Contestant Involved In Alarming, Fiery Crash
DWTS contestants often enter the competition hoping to win it all. But above else, most of them just want to have a great time. But sadly, that isn’t always the case.
One former DWTS contestant who had an outburst after leaving the competition is now dealing with critical injuries after a fiery car accident this week. Keep reading to get the latest information.
A former DWTS contestant crashes into a house in Los Angeles
Dancing With The Stars always hopes that contestants go on to do great things after they leave the show. But sadly, sometimes things like this end up happening instead.
According to NBC Los Angeles, actress Anne Heche was involved in a serious crash on Friday morning. The news outlet reports that she was “critically injured” in the crash.
Authorities report that the crash happened just before 11 a.m. in Los Angeles. The driver of a Mini Cooper, later revealed to be Anne Heche, was reportedly speeding down a residential street before slamming into a house in the Mar Vista neighborhood. Police believe the driver potentially hit the curb before crashing into the house.
Fortunately, no one inside the home sustained any injuries. Reports indicate that the homeowner was in the backyard when Anne Heche hit the home.
“The house was tons of smoke. I think they used the crane to move the car to extract the driver. It was crazy,” reports one eyewitness.
A representative from the Los Angeles Police department revealed to NBC that the crash was currently under investigation. At the time of reporting, there were not any arrests taking place. However, the spokesperson did say that Heche would be “subject to a blood draw” during the investigation. According to NBC, California police departments don’t need to have a warrant for a blood draw if the person in question had been arrested on a DUI charge before.
Anne Heche famously did not enjoy her time on the show
Heche competed on Dancing With The Stars Season 29. She was partnered with pro dancer Keo Motsepe. The pair finished in 13th place out of 15 couples. The judges eliminated the pair just one week after Tiger King star Carole Baskin went home.
She and her partner Keo left the competition the same night they performed a Pride-themed routine in order to celebrate Anne’s journey in the LGBTQ+ community.
Sources said she reportedly stormed off the set after the elimination and refused to speak with the press at all.
“When I told my story last night … it triggered something in me. It took me 20 years to tell my story, and to articulate it the way Dancing With The Stars allowed me to,” Anne told ET after she cooled down a little. “So to be voted off the same night I told that story, I had a similar feeling to what it was that I experienced years ago.”
“It doesn’t feel good to be put in a position where you tell your truth and it’s not received the way that you wanted it to be,” the actress continued. “But when we tell our stories, we share our respect for one another. I hope that by sharing it, we encourage others to do the same.”
Stay tuned for the latest DWTS news. There will be more information to share as the Season 31 premiere gets closer.
