Cindy Smit-Marra and John Anderson are part of a team of investigators who want the Boulder Police Department to focus on a different part of the investigation. Cindy Smit-Marra’s father Lou Smit was an investigator on the case in the 90s. He’s since passed away, but the team of investigators wants to continue his work. Lou Smit did not believe that the Ramsey parents were involved in the murder whatsoever. The Boulder Police believed that the Ramseys has something to do with the murder. At the very least, the police believed they participated in a cover-up.

“The Ramseys didn’t do it, and this case can be solved using the DNA evidence the killer left at the crime scene,” Anderon and Smit-Marra told The Sun. The pair wants the DNA evidence uncovered in JonBenét’s long johns, underwear, and under her fingernails to be retested for the sake of their theory.

“We request that the lab that did the testing on the long johns use their current technology to potentially identify more markers and/or separate any comingled DNA,” Anderson and Smit-Marra claimed. “This would simply take a phone call from the Boulder Police Department.”
