Netflix’s The Sea Best: Review and recap
Alone in the world, Maisie is a character that viewers will quickly fall in love with. Initially, Jacob is a little rough around the edges because he sees the sea monsters from a different point of view than Maisie. He, however, eventually comes around to seeing the sea monsters in the same light that the young girl sees them in.
The movie paints an interesting perspective on the history of wars. Maisie and Jacob ultimately learn the history of sea monsters that they grew up learning about was not accurate. Instead, they are met with learning that sea monsters are just giant, cute, and a little scary misunderstood creatures.
Things get a little dicey toward the end of the movie when the sea monster nicknamed “Red” gets captured by some of the hunters. Stabbed with a blade soaked in poison, viewers are left to wonder if the monster will survive.
Fortunately, the movie does come to a close with a satisfyingly happy ending. Chatter across the internet, however, suggests those who have already watched the movie are itching for a sequel with an update on the life of Maisie and Jacob.
