Becca Tilley Shares Concerns About An LGBTQ ‘Bachelor’ Lead
Bachelor alum Becca Tilley shares her concerns about the possibility of an LGBTQ lead on the dating competition. What ‘worries’ her? Read on for all the details.
Bachelor alum came out in May of 2022
Becca Tilley competed on back-to-back seasons of The Bachelor in her quest to find love. She didn’t find it with either Chris Soules (Season 19) or Ben Higgins (Season 20.)
In May of 2022, she revealed that she’s been in a relationship for four years with a woman. Becca has been dating singer Hayley Kiyoko since 2018.
She didn’t try to hide her relationship but also didn’t speak of it publically until earlier this year.
Becca Tilley shares concerns about an LGBTQ lead
With several Bachelor Nation alums coming out in recent years, the idea of an LGBTQ is on the minds of fans.
Becca Tilley recently weighed in with her thoughts about the idea. She told Us Weekly that she fully supports the idea, if it’s done right.
She pointed out the Season 6 romance between Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty on Bachelor In Paradise. While Demi and Kristian got engaged during the season finale, their relationship ended a few months later.
According to Becca, the BIP couple “opened up that conversation” about an LGBTQ lead.
“I just never want it to be done in a way that we go backwards. I hope that one day that’s an option and that they consider that,” Tilley said about the possibility.
Furthermore, she wondered how it would work in the Bachelor mansion. “But I also wonder, like, what would that look like for everyone in the house?”
The Bachelor alum did admit it would make good TV if the contestants in the house fell in love with each other instead of the lead.
Could Colton Underwood be the first gay Bachelor?
Demi Burnett and Becca Tilley aren’t the only members of the LGBTQ community. Colton Underwood shocked Bachelor Nation in 2021 by coming out during an interview on Good Morning America.
While there had been rumors for years, he always shut the gossip down.
But fans shouldn’t expect to see Colton Underwood as the first gay Bachelor. He’s engaged to Jordan C. Brown.
