Will ‘Wicked Tuna’ Be Renewed For 12th Season?
Wicked Tuna, the popular National Geographic TV series based in Gloucester, continues to capture the viewers’ hearts & imagination. Even as the series is about to complete the shoot for Season 11 finale, fans continue to flock to America’s oldest seaport to get a glimpse of the show’s boat, crew, or better yet, the captain.
Wicked Tuna Finale To Air On Sunday
The finale episode, with a 90-minute duration, will air on Sunday, July 10, at 8:30 p.m. Fans will get to see who bags the championship title on the final day of filming. However, this isn’t the only fishing drama viewers will get to see. The finale episode also features a rescue at sea after Captain TJ Ott’s dogs jump overboard the Hot Tuna.
As per Gloucester Daily Times, Jeff and Cathy Dyer of Knoxville, Tennesse, are among the recent Wicked Tuna visitors. Talking about their experience, Cathy Dyer mentioned, “That was one of our missions on our recent trip to New England. Our first impression as we drove through the city was it was much bigger than we expected.”

She further added, “When we saw the Fisherman’s Memorial driving into town, we knew we were in the presence of the ‘Wicked Tuna’. Our visit was very memorable and eventful.”
The couple first saw Paul Herbert of the Wicked Pissah while having lunch at Mile Marker One. The very next moment, they saw the FV-Tuna.com come into the dock straight from a fishing charter.

Cathy mentioned that the feeling was very surreal and felt like they were a part of a movie as they looked at each other amazed. She added, “But, the most incredible part was meeting Capt. Bob Cook from the Fat Tuna and his first mate John. They were the kindest and most genuine pair anyone could ever meet.”
She also explained how talking to them was like talking to everyday people but with some of the biggest smiles. The couple also asked them several questions and thanked Jeff for his military service.

“As we were leaving, someone called out, and it was Bob jogging across the parking lot to give us a signed picture of his boat & crew with a big fat tuna in the middle.” She continued.
Cathy concluded by mentioning that they had an awesome experience in Gloucester and would surely do it again if they ever got a chance.
Is Wicked Tuna Renewed For Season 12?
With so much to look forward to, the season finale will surely be an adventure for fans. But what about Wicked Tuna season 12? Will the series be renewed?
As of now, no official confirmation has been received for a renewal. However, fans won’t be left hanging with Wicked Tuna Outer Banks Season 9 set to air starting July 17 at 9 p.m. The premiere will have two back-to-back episodes.
