Inside Joshua Plath’s Tragic Death, What Really Happened That Day?

Joshua Plath’s death was first discussed in Season 1 of Welcome to Plathville. So, many fans may not remember all of the details of the shocking accident.
Kim & Barry Plath’s Children
On the show, fans have had a chance to get to know Kim and Barry’s children. All of their kids, except for Hosanna, are on the show. Hosanna is married and has one child, but fans don’t know much else about her.
Their children include:

- Micah, 21
- Moriah, 19
- Lydia, 18
- Isaac, 16 or 17 (exact birthday unknown)
- Amber, 13
- Cassia, 11
- Mercy, 9
Joshua Plath was born on April 15, 2007. Sadly, Joshua is no longer with them. So, what happened?
Joshua Plath’s Death
During Welcome to Plathville Season 1, Kim and Barry opened up about Joshua’s tragic passing.
Kim walked with Barry while at St. George Island in Florida. They were celebrating their wedding anniversary. As they enjoyed some one-on-one time, Kim said, “I can’t help but reflect on all the times that we’ve come here. In the last 22 years, we’ve been through some life changes: a lot of them good, some of them not good.”
She said it had been about 10 years since Joshua’s death. He passed away when he was just 17 months old in the fall of 2008.
In the scene, Kim spilled all of the details.
She said, “It was a normal day and we were doing some yard work. I pulled a vehicle forward — I had just seen him. So I thought I was OK, but I pulled forward and I ran over him. And the ambulance comes and we’re all just praying, crying and the lady came, she took him to the ambulance and she came back and she said, ‘I’m sorry.’”
Then, she added, “I can tell you that those next six or eight months of my life were hell on Earth. And [Barry], I was dealing with losing a son, he was dealing with losing a son and a wife. Cause I wasn’t there. I was there, but I wasn’t there.”
