‘Jeopardy!’ Host LeVar Burton Makes Massive Blunder On ‘The View’
LeVar Burton made a massive blunder on The View. The former Jeopardy! host likes to tell it like it is. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Burton shared his true feelings for the game show and producer Mike Richards. He didn’t like how it was handled when he and several other celebrities tried out for the coveted host position.
Now, it’s down to Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik. Fans have been waiting impatiently to see who’s going to end up with the position. Burton recently made an appearance on ABC’s The View to share his thoughts on current events. He broke his silence shortly after he made a blunder on national television.
Reading Rainbow alum made a massive blunder
On Thursday, June 9, LeVar Burton appeared as a guest on The View. He made a massive blunder on the live show, which caused him to break his silence afterward. Fans have been supporting Burton on social media. In the recent episode, the former Jeopardy! guest host made his feelings known about the U.S. book bannings.
LeVar Burton made his career as the television host of Reading Rainbow. He supports and encourages children’s literacy — especially in an educational setting. Joy Behar asked Burton about his feelings on the latest book burnings happening throughout the country. She wanted him to give his real “reaction” to it, and not leave anything out.
Burton let it slip as he looked into the camera and called it “bulls***.” The actor made his thoughts clear.
“It’s embarrassing that we are banning books in this country; in this culture; in this day and age,” LeVar Burton said. “Read the books they’re banning. That’s where the good stuff is!”
The View fans were rooting for him at home. Most of them flocked to Twitter to talk about their childhood idol dropping a bomb on live television. Thankfully, producers caught Burton’s blunder in time to bleep it out.
On Friday, LeVar Burton broke his silence on Twitter. He included a quote-tweet from The View that showed that very moment. He added: “I said what I meant and I meant what I said!” Burton is not taking this moment back.
