The Reason Why Lifetime Is Postponing ‘The Bad Seed Returns’
Lifetime was set to premiere The Bad Seed Returns on Monday, May 30. However, they have postponed this premiere.
Here is the reason why.
Why Is Lifetime Postponing The Bad Seed Returns?
On Thursday, Mckenna Grace, star of The Bad Seed, and The Bad Seed Returns went to Twitter to share this news. The star who plays Emma in the movie wrote, “In the wake of the recent tragedy in my home state of Texas, we have decided to delay the release of “The Bad Seed Returns.” @lifetimetv & everyone involved are in agreement. #Uvalde #Buffalo #LagunaWoods.”
In addition, Grace shared two photos. One was of the Uvalde victims. Moreover, the second was a lengthier note about this decision.
It started with the same words that she wrote on Twitter. Then she wrote more about the reasons why she did not feel comfortable promoting this movie, and why they needed to postpone it.
I don’t feel comfortable promoting this film this week and we don’t think Monday is the right time to release it.
I was in 1st grade when Sandy Hook happened…and it feels like not much has changed since then. I remember my parents teaching me emergency action plans for going to church or the movies.
if you have power, change something. If you have the means, donate to the victim’s families of any of the recent shootings. I feel sick and heartbroken over these tragedies. www.jedcares.org is a great resource if you are feeling anxious or depressed. If you’re feeling helpless or lie you want to do something but don’t know where to start, I found every town.org to be really informational.

Mckenna Grace Wrote Script With Father
Mckenna Grace, along with her father Ross Burge wrote the script with her father. The original Lifetime movie, The Bad Seed, was a reimagining of the “cult 1956 psychological horror film.” This film was based on William March’s bestselling novel and Maxwell Anderson’s stage adaptation.
Rob Lowe starred and directed the first one, where his character, the father, dies. In the second movie, Emma (Grace) is now living with her aunt Angela. Moreover, she is in high school and trying to figure out all of the complexities and issues that teenage school life brings.
However, her aunt’s husband is suspicious of Emma. He does not think she is as innocent as she appears. Moreover, her high school has a new girl. Worst of all, she seems to know a lot about Emma’s past secrets.
It looks like Emma has “no choice” but to go back to her old self and take care of this pesky problem before it interrupts her fab new life.
Do you think that Lifetime made the right choice to postpone The Bad Seed Returns?
