Pete Davidson confirmed he’s leaving Saturday Night Live. The actor is moving on to greener pastures. However, some fans have to wonder if the Kardashians had something to do with this decision.

On the heels of his red-hot romance with Kim Kardashian, he penned an emotional Instagram post to his fans. The comedian confirmed that he’s leaving SNL ahead of the season finale, which aired on Saturday, May 21.

Since Pete is no longer on Instagram, his friend Dave Sirus shared the message on his behalf. The Instagram video included a tender moment between the two backstage at 30 Rock.

Pete Davidson shocked fans when he confirmed he’s leaving the NBC live show. In the video, he was doing his “very first update and sketch.” Pete was overcome with emotion knowing this would be his last time. The 28-year-old said he’s learned a lot during his time on the show.

“When I got the show I was 20 years old and I had no idea what I was doing. I still don’t but especially back then,” Pete Davidson wrote. “I wasn’t really a sketch performer I was just a stand-up. I knew I could never keep up or go toe to toe with a Kenan Thompson or a Kate McKinnon so I was super scared at figuring out what I could possibly bring to or do for such a historic, respected shoe and platform.”

At the time, Pete figured he would do his stand-up act and be himself on the “Weekend Update.” He’s grateful for the opportunity. The Hollywood star has no regrets about sharing this life with the audience. Of course, Pete thanked his friend and SNL producer, Lorne Michaels, as well as his cast members.

Fans are in shock over the news. However, some of them are happy to see that his career is taking off. They think he’s leaving at the right time in his life. Meanwhile, other fans think the Kardashians have something to do with it.

Pete Davidson started dating Kim Kardashian in October 2021. Since then, the two have been inseparable. He’s been making big decisions with his girlfriend lately. Per Deadline, Pete just scored a major role in a new movie.

However, he will have to film in Australia. Kim and Pete Davidson may have to relocate temporarily down under as their relationship becomes more serious. Their relationship first started on Saturday Night Live, when Kim made her hosting debut. The two shared an on-screen kiss during an Aladdin-inspired sketch.

Kim’s new relationship has become a hot topic in the Hulu series, The Kardashians. Pete Davidson is not featured in the first season. However, it’s possible that he could appear in the second season. He also launched Pebble Bar in NYC and purchased a Staten Island Ferry as an investment.
