‘Welcome To Plathville:’ Is Kim Plath Trying Too Hard To Stay Relevant?
Welcome to Plathville Season 4 premiered on TLC this week and revealed that there have been some huge changes since Season 3. The Plath family isn’t the same as they used to be. Specifically, mom Kim Plath has taken a different path. So, what’s the reason behind all of this? Fans are wondering if she’s just trying to stay relevant.

Kim Plath makes some major changes in her life.
As Welcome to Plathville Season 4 kicked off, Kim revealed to fans that she’s made some changes. She certainly isn’t the same mom that she’s been on the previous seasons of the show.
In the first episode, fans saw Kim in a tiny skirt and high heels as she danced in the living room with her four daughters who still live at home. Lydia, Mercy, Amber, and Cassia danced with their mother and followed her lead.
As shown on Welcome to Plathville, Kim is also opening her own dance studio. She’s learning about herself and questioning her relationship with her husband, Barry.
Welcome to Plathville fans question Kim’s intentions.
On Reddit, TLC viewers are discussing the Season 4 premiere episode. Many of them have something to say about Kim’s change and her intentions. Some believe she might be trying to stay relevant on the show.
One Welcome to Plathville fan claims, “The show isn’t revolving around her anymore, so let’s try and get it to be all about her again.”
“I think the Kim story is scripted. They have not been getting the camera time the older kids do so they are fluffing a story,” adds another.
Others think that Kim ended up making herself the victim when raising her kids in such a sheltered environment. One Reddit user says, “Now, Kim feels stiffled by her life, and wants to break free, after stifling, and stunting the growth of her children.”
Some fans also note that they don’t really care about Kim and Barry at all and would rather just watch the kids. However, they do think that she is trying to stay relevant and keep herself on the show.
One fan even teases that Kim is preparing for her very own spin-off.

Why are so many people negative and mean. I know Kim has had issues in the past but everybody has the right to change or try to improve themselves. Let’s be a kinder nation and try and give people a chance.
I can’t stand Kim she thinks everything is about her and that everyone owes her. Please stop showing her and Barry both are terrible. Honestly this show is just whacked. I only like the so. That’s married and his wife. The rest are whacked like the parents. Lydia is a joke she’s always in someone’s business. You really need to Pray more because you aren’t being a Godly young woman. I dislike Kim Plath. She has an alcoholic personality. Self centered and a Bully.
She also has to be the center of attention.
Im confused how can Kim can get a divorce if her belief system wouldn’t even allow her kids to have a soft drink. She raised them to belief you meet a boy or girl and you marry them for life. No dating around very modestly dressed no tv, movies home school. Something is off here did they go to pastoral counseling. How do you change this much after all you put your kids thru. Her husband seems devastated the guy coming to cook for them was weird too. Maybe its just me.
I don’t understand her she is willing to do everything in her power to get rid of Olivia but now she wants to be this person who is not doing the right thing as far as her teaching go. How does she justify all the things she is doing when she never gave her older children to have any say or do? Why isn’t anyone speaking up and say stop you are wrong in this.
