Kim Kardashian tried to slip into the curve-hugging Marilyn Monroe gown at the Met Gala on Monday, May 2, 2022. She could barely walk. Fans have wondered if she wore the original gown or a replica from the Ripley’s Believe it or Not! museum in Orlando. In an interview with Vogue, Kim claims that she dropped 16 pounds in just three weeks to wiggle into the gown.

“I had to lose 16 pounds down today. It was such a challenge. It was like a [movie] role,” Kim casually told Vogue. “I was determined to fit. I haven’t had carbs or sugar in about three weeks.”

Kim Kardashian’s insensitive comments rubbed Lili Reinhart the wrong way. The star has spoken out about her struggles with body dysmorphia before. She took to social media to slam The Kardashians star for promoting unhealthy beauty standards. This is the case when young women look up to the Kardashian-Jenner family.

The young actress let Kim Kardashian have it on social media. Lili Reinhart called her “toxic” and “stupid” talking about the extremes she went through for her Met Gala look. Lili also attended the event on Monday night. She caught wind of Kim’s comments, which affected her.

“To walk on the red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are… because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month…to fit into a f***ing dress?” Lili Reinhart wrote in a series of posts on her Instagram Stories. “So wrong. So f***ed on so many levels. To openly admit you’re starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word.”

Fans know her as Betty Cooper on the popular CW teen drama. She concluded her message by calling out the “toxicity” of the entertainment industry even though she doesn’t want to come off as negative. She encouraged her followers to “stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies.”

Riverdale star talked about her body image struggles

Lili Reinhart’s statement shouldn’t come as a shock to fans. The 25-year-old has opened up about her struggles with body insecurities. Just because she’s considered attractive in Hollywood doesn’t mean she sees herself the same way. Back in 2020, the CW star shared why she decided to pose in underwear for a photo shoot.

“Even if I’m not feeling amazing about my body, I felt it was important for me to do the scene anyway in my bra and underwear so people could see my body as it was,” Lili Reinhart was quoted saying, as previously reported on TV Shows Ace. “I did it for the people who feel like they need to look a certain way.”
