‘Britain’s Got Talent’ What Happened To Jonathan Goodwin After 30ft Fall?
Britain’s Got Talent fans are curious to know what happened to Jonathan Goodwin. The daredevil brutally injured himself after a stunt that went horribly wrong. He’s done everything from being bitten by rattlesnakes to being buried alive. Goodwin never says no to a challenge until his latest stunt nearly took his life.
Who is Jonathan Goodwin?
Jonathan Goodwin made a name for himself after his appearance on American’s Got Talent. He quickly achieved fame for his death-defying stunts. Goodwin ended up in the semi-finals, where he was eliminated. He also made an appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Goodwin tried out the show across the pond in hopes to achieve worldwide fame. However, his stunts on Britain’s Got Talent weren’t as dangerous as the one that happened on American soil. He later returned to America’s Got Talent in 2021. This time he ended up as a contestant in the spinoff series, America’s Got Talent: Extreme.
Unfortunately, production had to shut down in October 2021 due to an accident that involved Goodwin. He was suspended 70 feet in the air. Goodwin hung from a rope as two cars swung along each side of him. The artist had to jump up the top before the cars collided.
Goodwin was too late. The rope broke and he fell 30 feet. He found himself crushed in between the vehicles. Due to the impact of the two vehicles, an explosion happened upon impact. The performer ended up with multiple burns and broken bones.
Update on former Britain’s Got Talent contestant
Britain Got Talent alumni Jonathan Goodwin shared an update on February 20, 2022. He announced that he was released from the hospital. Despite the scary incident, Goodwin was in good spirits since he was with his partner Amanda Abbington.
“Four months later… finally out of the hospital,” Jonathan Goodwin wrote. “My birthday today… can’t think of a better way to spend it than with my love.”
The stunt artist revealed that he’s been left paralyzed. The Britain’s Got Talent star shared the first photo of himself in a wheelchair since his dangerous stunt from earlier this year. The 42-year-old severely injured his spinal cord and lost a kidney. However, he’s still hopeful about his future.
Goodwin’s life is a lot different these days. He shared a photo of himself with his dog on his lap. He won’t be doing stunts anymore. Yet, Goodwin teased that he has a lot to look forward to.
“6 months ago I went to rehearse something and left this little hairy monkey waiting patiently for me…he didn’t see his dad again until just a couple of weeks ago and when he finally did, dad had new cool wheels. A lot has changed in the last 6 months, but love is a constant, and I’m very loved. Looking forward to my next chapters and being a roll model.”
The Britain’s Got Talent alum’s life has changed for the better. Now, Goodwin wants to be an inspiration of hope for others. What are your thoughts on Jonathan Goodwin’s health update? Sound off below in the comment section.
