Meri Brown’s B&B Has Irish Roots: Learn The History
Meri Brown has been super proud of her bed and breakfast since she purchased it in 2017. Lizzie’s Heritage Inn has been the pride of Parowan but its roots are deeply Irish. Meri shared the history shortly after it opened to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day. Yet, the one thing visitors have learned is she is all about doing the holidays big.
Meri Brown Fights For Her B&B
When Sister Wives first began in 2010, Meri had just lost her part-time job. Second wife, Janelle was the main worker bee of the Brown family and liked it that way. She noted that with as many teenagers as they had, she needed to work full-time. Upon fleeing Utah for Las Vegas, Janelle and third wife, Christine both obtained their real estate licenses. As for Meri and fourth wife, Robyn, they worked together on a jewelry line called My Sisterwife’s Closet. Meri ultimately decided to cut back on it so she could go back to school but then got involved with LuLaRoe. When the chance to buy back a home that had long been in her family, she proposed it to Kody and her sister wives. Unfortunately, it did not go as planned.
They wanted to be business partners and wanted a well-designed business plan. Meri had an idea formulated but really just needed help with the down payment. When it was not feasible, she gathered her LuLaRoe money and did it all on her own, much to the shock of her family. She recruited her mother, Bonnie to run it now that it was a bed and breakfast and has never looked back. Even when the pandemic hit and it was not safe for Bonnie, Meri called for backup. Her daughter, Mariah, and fiance, Audrey took over. This was Meri’s dream and she has seen it to fruition, celebrating every milestone since.
Celebrating The Heritage’s History
One main reason Meri Brown wanted to buy the inn was to keep it in the family. She knows the value of her heritage, literally, hence Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. For St. Patrick’s Day in 2019, Meri revealed she is 1/6th Irish but still very proud of that. Her great-great-grandfather Charles Adams was actually born in Hillsborough, Down, Ireland. Ultimately, he met Sarah and they were the ones who built the inn. Fans loved hearing about her Irish roots on the holiday: “I love hearing about family heritage. What a neat nugget of history you have!” Another added: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day! My great-grandma came over from Ireland when she was 3 years old. It was 1882.”
Yet, St. Patty’s Day is not the only holiday Meri and co. love to celebrate at the inn. They are constantly prepping for good times and guests, especially once it was safer during the pandemic. For the 150th birthday of the inn, Meri tried to do something special on a regular basis. She even did a cooking video with Mariah. As for Christmas, she decorated it to the nines. To commemorate the one-year passing of Grandma Bonnie, they even had some commemorative items around the B&B. Not only is it celebratory but it is so celebrated by visitors.
