Meri Brown’s Disconnect From Family Goes Back Years
If you’re an avid Sister Wives viewer, you probably noticed that Meri Brown is more distant than some of the other family members. But have you ever wondered exactly what caused this?
These roots may go even deeper than anyone previously believed. Keep reading to see what we know about Meri and her involvement in the Brown household.
Meri Brown doesn’t spend much time at all with the rest of the Brown family
As we previously noted, Meri Brown is reportedly only with her family when they’re filming new episodes of Sister Wives. She may be the first of Kody Brown’s wives, but that doesn’t mean she’s happy with the current setup.
“Meri does live separately from everyone. She’s never with them,” Kendra Pollard-Parra, a family friend, revealed to InTouch Weekly. “She’s only with them to film. Her whole focus is on her career with LuLa Roe which she’s very successful at, and her daughter.”
Kendra went on to say that the rest of the Brown family doesn’t try much to connect with Meri either. The whole catfish situation definitely drove a wedge between her and the rest of the clan.
“Meri’s betrayal still has run pretty deep in the family and it’s not going away,” Kendra revealed. “[It] was a lot more intense than they tried to make out in the beginning.”
It appears as if she will stay in her spiritual marriage with Kody, but this isn’t making any of the hurt feelings go away. Will that change at any point down the road, or is Meri Brown now the family’s black sheep?
Will the original sister wife leave the family any time soon?
If Meri isn’t close to her family, why does she stay in the first place? Christine made the brave choice to leave the family last year. It doesn’t appear like Meri will follow suit, but she’s clearly unhappy.
Reddit users did a deep dive here to discuss the situation.
“Meri hits the nail on the head on why plural marriage would really suck,” the original poster wrote. “Besides the obvious of having your spouse sleep with other women. Meri is talking about Mariah leaving home and how she is about to be an empty nester. This is such a hard stage of life for many people. She goes on to point out that it wouldn’t be so bad if she and Kody were in it together, but they aren’t.”
“He isn’t having this experience at all because he has children as young as babies with his other wives still to raise,” they continued. “His kids aren’t gone. Hers [are]. She is very much going through that all alone. It made me think about how horribly lonely that would be- to be going through a difficult time, married but very much alone. Women who are not the favorite wife in a plural family really do seem to be alone in life. They have a small fraction of a husband. I think Kody had it right. Love should not be divided.”
