An eating disorder doesn’t just go away with one-time help and treatment. It’s a chronic illness that can come back and cause one to relapse.

Fans are shocked over Jinger’s latest photo. They think she looks frail and pale lately. It’s not because of the dress she chose to wear. Rather, it’s about tiny she looks in those clothes.

Jinger Vuolo opened up about her eating disorder

In May 2021, Jinger Vuolo and her husband Jeremy Vuolo published a new book called The Hope We Hold: Finding Peace in the Promises of God. The 19 Kids and Counting alum opened up about her struggles with an eating disorder. Jinger admitted that she would look at her body and “hated the way I looked” and was “convinced I was fat and getting fatter by the day,” per Daily Mail.

She even tried “extreme dieting” fads. Sometimes she would only consume one meal a day. Jinger’s struggles would last for a month before she got help. Her mother, Michelle Duggar, struggled with bulimia when she was a teenager.

The mom of two was candid about her body image.  Jinger Vuolo felt she “had to be skinny” when she was just a teenager. She also talked about her eating disorder in an interview with Us Weekly.

“For me, the wrestling was with my weight and my body image, even though I was very in shape and I didn’t need to lose weight,” Jinger Vuolo told the outlet. “I felt like I needed to; as a 14-year-old girl, I was really wrestling with that.”

Only Jeremy and her mom were aware of her struggles. The TLC star admitted that being on the show found herself worrying about her weight sometimes. When she realized her true worth in Christ, she realized she didn’t have to question her weight anymore. Yet, Duggar fans can’t help but notice how small she looks lately.

Counting On fans share concerns about Jinger

On Saturday, April 9, one fan took to the DuggarSnark Reddit to share their concerns for Jinger Vuolo. They shared a screenshot from her Instagram Stories. The reality star wore an orange floral print dress that featured black lace detail at the neckline. She also wore white slide pumps.

While that fan ripped Jinger for her “grandma clothes,” others were concerned about her appearance. They think she looked pale and frail in the photo. Some are concerned that her eating disorder is coming back. Others think Jinger Vuolo is just going through a lot with brother Josh Duggar’s trial and conviction.

There’s no doubt that the Duggars are under great stress right now. Stress and traumatic events can be enough to trigger an eating disorder, per the National Eating Disorders Association. It’s likely that Jinger is under a lot of stress right now. Or, she could’ve suffered a relapse.
