Is Kody Brown Of ‘Sister Wives’ Incapable Of Shedding Tears?
Sister Wives fans made it clear that they don’t particularly care for patriarch Kody Brown. They feel that he’s cold, callous, and doesn’t care at all for his family members. Robyn is his favorite wife and he barely pays attention to the remaining two. Fans also feel that he’s a neglectful father.
But is Kody Brown actually incapable of shedding tears or showing true emotion? Keep reading to see what the Sister Wives fanbase has to say about the situation.
Kody Brown is not at all in tune with his feelings
It’s clear that Kody Brown doesn’t like to dwell on his personal feelings. We previously noted that showing his emotions even made him feel like puking.
So can the Brown family patriarch actually cry?
According to one Reddit thread, Kody Brown fake cries on the show. And Sister Wives fans think it’s even worse than Robyn’s fake cries.
The original poster attached a video clip of Kody apparently crying onscreen. They weren’t impressed.
“But yet he refused to hug his son Gabrielle when they were out at CP cutting logs and he hadn’t seen Kody in 8 months because of his Covid rules,” replied another Reddit user. “His son was crying and visible upset and he just ignored what he was saying and told him it was time to go home. As a parent, I’d hug my child who was crying and risk catching Covid. That really put the nail in the coffin for me with Kody. That scene showed me how much of an ass Kody really is.”
“He didn’t hug Ysabel either before she went off to have major surgery. I hate him so much,” added someone else.
In general, it seems like the consensus among Reddit users is that Kody Brown doesn’t actually cry. He doesn’t appear to show genuine emotion when the situation calls for it, but will have what users dubbed a pretend cry instead.

The internet has a particular distaste for the Brown family patriarch
This Reddit thread may seem harsh, but it’s not the first time the Sister Wives section of Reddit came for Kody Brown. There was a recent post where fans commented on specific moments that made their blood boil.”I’m doing my first full watch through and I’m noticing a theme with Kody,” the original poster wrote. “Obviously we know he said to Christine ‘love the family and I’ll love you’ and now he and Meri are having issues and he’s saying he wants her to fix her relationships with the rest of the family before, or as, they fix their own. And he’s stated multiple times that the relationships are all entwined.”
“It seems like he doesn’t know how to focus on one relationship and nurture that by itself, they don’t all have to be in ONE relationship. For people who claim they have four separate marriages he doesn’t treat them like individuals. Like at all. Or maybe it’s just a cop out for the wives he wants to engage with less.”
