Tragedy struck Young & The Restless star Mishael Morgan and her husband Navid Ali Monday morning. The star shared the tragic news on Twitter that forever changed their family.

Mishael Morgan went to Twitter to share the tragedy that forever changed her family. She said, “On Monday morning my husband’s only brother, perished with his wife & 3 kids in a tragic house fire. I am still in absolute disbelief. My sister-in-law set up a fund, please pray for my family & donate if you are able.”

Mishael also shared photos and a message in addition to what she shared on Twitter. She said, “Please hold your loved ones tight. Appreciate every moment and remember another day is never guaranteed. Rest In Paradise Nazir, Raven, Alia, Jayden & Layla. Spread your wings beautiful angels 🤍🤍🤍. #rip #Alifamily #tragic #nowords #heartbroken”

The fire happened in Brampton Ontario, Canada. Navid Ali’s brother Nazir, along with his wife Raven O’Dea and their three children all perished in the tragic fire.

A GoFundMe was set up by Bismah Ali to help cover the funeral costs for the five family members. The beginning of the GoFundMe read, “This morning at 2 am a fire in Brampton Ontario claimed the lives of 5 beautiful people in our family. Nazir Ali, son of Nawab Ali and Samina Ali. Raven Alisha Ali O’Dea daughter of Louis Felipa and Bonnie O’Dea and their three beautiful children.”

The post continued, “Nazir and Raven were two of the most amazing young people, who dedicated their lives to their children. They were loving, selfless, and empathetic.” She ended the post by saying, “Hold the ones you love close to you, be grateful for waking up. You are not promised tomorrow.”

As of Wednesday night, $55,654 of the $150,000 goal was raised.

What happened?

According to CTV News, Raven’s father noted the house did not have working smoke alarms. He said they had been working on some renovations and had not yet replaced the smoke detectors.

Louie Felipa said, “My aim today is to make sure people know how important it is to have a smoke alarm.” He continued, “This pain, I don’t want anyone to go through it.”

A grandmother was also in the home but managed to get out. She remains in critical condition. Two other residents living in the basement also managed to escape the flames. They were uninjured.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Young & The Restless star and her family as they grieve.
