Soap Legend Susan Lucci’s Husband Helmut Huber Dies
It is a sad day for legendary soap actress Susan Lucci. The Emmy winner’s husband, Helmut Huber. He was eighty-four when he passed away on Monday morning, according to People Magazine.
Susan Lucci’s Long Love Story
Many know Susan Lucci as the actress who had to lose eighteen times before winning her Daytime Emmy. Fans also know her for her longtime portrayal of Erica Kane on the hit soap opera All My Children. However, she also had a very sweet love story with her husband, Helmut Huber. The two wed in 1969 just two years prior to her getting her big break on AMC. The TV producer was her support system in everything that she did. He even managed her career while being the CEO of Pine Valley Productions, per People.
The couple went on to have two children, Liza Huber, who is also a soap actress, and a son, Andreas. In 1994, Helmut became a United States citizen but was also apparently an amazing chef. After fifty-three years together, sadly their love story had to come to an ending. On Monday, March 28th, 2022, Helmut Huber sadly passed away. The news rocked the soap world as Lucci has amassed fans all over the world.
Leaving Behind A Legacy
Huber officially moved to America at the age of twenty-three, settling in New York. He had been invited to join the Austrian Ski Team but declined, proving he was a man of many talents. After his passing, a representative of the family had this to say: “A family man, he was a loyal friend, and loved them deeply. With a roaring sense of humor, larger-than-life personality, and a practical problem-solver, he lived his life to the fullest. Mr. Huber who formerly raced motorcycles in Austria was a first-rate skier, and avid golfer, belonging to the Garden City Golf Club and Westhampton Country Club.”
Though no cause of death has been released at this time, the family is asking for donations to the American Stroke Association. They are also requesting privacy during this time. Aside from Susan Lucci and his children, Helmut Huber leaves behind several grandchildren and a brother. He also leaves behind many memories with family and friends that won’t soon be forgotten. Thoughts and love are with the Huber-Lucci family as they deal with this unimaginable loss. May the memories be the blessings to carry them through during the toughest times and may he rest in peace.
