‘When Calls The Heart’ Season 9, Episode 1 Included 3 Actors Playing Little Jack

Thanks to some newly released photos, we may know a bit more about who played Little Jack when.
Who Played Little Jack In When Calls The Heart Season 9, Episode 1?
The When Calls The Heart Season 9 premiere was spectacular. Moreover, it has been so much fun to see Little Jack get bigger.
But, it seems that there may have been three actors portraying Little Jack in the first episode. Thanks to some new Episode 1 photos that Hallmark’s parent company, Crown Media, released, that looks like the case.
Gunner and Lincoln Taylor are listed in a photo. This is when Elizabeth was holding her son. Yet, when Elizabeth, Lucas, and Little Jack saw the balloon, that was all newcomer Hyland Goodrich. What is going on?
Before the season began, Hallmark announced that newcomer Hyland Goodrich is now portraying Little Jack. There was an explanation that Lincoln and Gunner Taylor were taking some time off.

Why Are The Taylor Twins and Hyland Goodrich On WCTH Cast List?
Hearties who watched the When Calls The Heart Season 9 premiere may have noticed that both the Taylor Twins and Hyland Goodrich played Little Jack in the first episode entitled “In Like A Lion.”
This is verified with the Crown Media cast list that Heavy obtained and published. Turns out, all three actors will be portraying the little boy in the first two episodes.
After that, Hyland Goodrich will be portraying Little Jack for the remainder of Season 9.
Why Did The Taylor Twins Leave When Calls The Heart?
First, on December 16, Entertainment Tonight revealed that they recast the role of Little Jack. Hyland Goodrich was now portraying him.
Next, on December 17, the Taylor Twins posted on Instagram why they left the Hallmark series.
Words out – Taylor twins have taken the year off of filming and even though we miss our WCTH family, we will never forget the three years we spent on set. We can not wait to see our new friend Hyland on the show and look forward to meeting him! This is not goodbye – it’s see you later ❤️
Based on this information, it appeared that in the new season, Hyland was the only actor portraying the little boy.
However, it was a bit odd that Gunner and Lincoln’s social media included photos from their WCTH trailer. In addition, they were dressed up with the same sort of hat and suspenders.
We don’t have the whole story here. We can only surmise that the decision was made after the first two episodes, and Hyland did some additional scenes for the early episodes.
It seems unlikely that all three actors were on set at the same time. But, everyone has remained pretty tight-lipped at the circumstances that resulted in this major character change.
Nonetheless, Hyland Goodrich is a bit older, and also very adorable. He likes to improvise, and Erin has stated in several interviews that they have kept his improvisations in the final cut! Should be fun.
