When Calls The Heart Season 9 ‘In Like A Lion’ Showed New Fashions
How does the WCTH wardrobe change in Season 9? Hearties who saw the first When Calls The Heart Season 9 episode, “In Like A Lion,” saw some of the new fashions.
As per Peter’s link to “Fashion Through The Decades,” and the Hallmark photo of Amanda Wong and Andrea Brooks, Hope Valley residents are embracing the new fashion choices. One of the biggest changes in fashion between 1910 and 1919 is that skirts are shorter, and ankles are showing. Both Amanda, and Andrea’s characters Mei Sou, and Dr. Faith Carter, are sporting the shorter skirts.
In addition, Faith is wearing a long tunic over a shorter skirt.

Flo, Ned Sporing New Fashion
Flo (Loretta Walsh), and Ned (Hrothgar Mathews) dressed up in the latest fashion for the first episode of the season. They both wore red and white striped shirts, bow ties, flat-top, straw hats, and Ned sporting suspenders, a fashion trend of the time. Their looks succinctly summed up the era.

Lucas Sports The Latest In Men’s Fashion In When Calls The Heart Season 9
In a Hallmark When Calls The Heart Season 9 GIF, Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) wears the latest jacket look for men. By this time, men’s jackets are more fitted and shorter, as opposed to the bigger and longer jackets from the decade before.
In addition, Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich) wears a very fashionable newsboy hat. Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) does wear longer skirts, however, she does wear boots, which is standard for this period of time.
Era Of The Automobile
One of the big changes in the latest season of When Calls The Heart is that horses have made way for automobiles. Hope Valley is getting bigger. There is more commerce and people.
