‘Bringing Up Bates’: Family Reunites For Very Special Reason

The Bringing Up Bates family isn’t always able to get together for different outings, events, and celebrations. With Gil and Kelly Bates having 19 children and lots of grandkids, it’s not easy to find a date and time that works for everyone. Of course, they try to make it work whenever possible.

Further complicating things, some of the kids don’t live in Tennessee near their parents. For example, Alyssa and John Webster live in Florida, while Katie and Travis Clark are in New Jersey.

Fortunately, there’s one family event that they manage to get together for no matter what. Every year, in February, the Bates family celebrates I Love You Day. Around the holiday season, the adult children often have many different commitments and it’s just hard for them to get everyone together on one day. So, they’ve created their own holiday.

At the I Love You Day celebration, the family selects a theme and dresses up in costumes. For example, one year, they dressed as animals.

Now, the Bates family is giving fans a peek into their celebration. This year, they dressed up as Bible characters. It looks like everyone was able to make it out to Gil and Kelly’s home for the fun event. Even the family members from out of state made the trek to keep with the special tradition.

Bringing Up Bates fans are thrilled to see an I Love You Day video.

In the comments section of Alyssa’s recent YouTube upload, fans are talking about how happy they are to see the family celebrating I Love You Day. This is something that fans enjoyed seeing on the family’s UPtv show. But Bringing Up Bates was canceled and fans were left without new content from the family.

Fortunately, Alyssa’s video allows fans to enjoy the festivities, even without the show airing anymore. Here’s what some of Alyssa’s viewers said:

  • “Thank the Lord for these videos! Ever since Bringing Up Bates got cancelled I feared we’d never get to enjoy another ‘I Love You Day’ party, but because of these vlogs we don’t have to miss out! :)”
  • “So glad we’re getting to see parts of the i love you day celebration! That was one of my favorite of the episodes! So happy some of you girls have you tube channels to keep us updated! ❤️”
  • “I love keeping up with all your family that does have channels, especially since UP TV cancelled Bringing Up Bates.”
