Wendy Williams Calls Sherri Shepherd’s Takeover ‘Slap In The Face’
Wendy Williams thinks Sherri Shepherd’s takeover is a “slap in the face.” She is not happy with the producers. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, she fired both of her managers. Wendy also gave her fans the silent treatment after she started her personal Instagram account.
She was gung-ho on returning to the show. Yet, producers didn’t know what to do. They felt that if she was too sick to be on television, then she should be too sick to be on social media. As for Wendy, she thinks the producers canceled her eponymous daytime talk show without her. She had plans of returning to the show even though she didn’t reveal when.
Wendy Williams feels “disrespected” after Sherri Shepherd’s takeover
An insider told The Sun that Wendy Williams is not happy with Sherri Shepherd’s takeover. She feels “disrespected” and thinks it’s a “slap in the face.” Earlier this week, Sherri announced that she’s replacing the original host with her own daytime talk show. Wendy and her team feel that the announcement disrespected the veteran host.
A production insider said that she wanted a proper goodbye. She’s shocked over the treatment she’s received. Sherri made the announcement on The Wendy Williams Show. They cross-promoted the announcement on her personal Instagram and Wendy Williams’ official Instagram account, including The Wendy Williams Show’s YouTube channel.
“Sherri’s show was announced on The Wendy Williams Show, with Wendy’s audience and with all of her followers. Wendy has 2.6 million subscribers on her YouTube alone. That’s Wendy’s YouTube! She built that following, not Sherri, not the production company.”
Across all of Wendy’s social media accounts, she has over six million followers. The insider called the show’s decision “a total slap in the face” for them the announcement to be made on Wendy’s show and her social media platforms. Another source said that Wendy Williams’ fans shouldn’t expect an on-air send-off from her. She has no plans to return to the show to welcome Sherri on board. Instead, she’s moving forward with the silent treatment.
Continuing with her silent treatment
Wendy Williams is not congratulating Sherri anytime soon. Producers had something planned for the send-off, but they decided against it. It could be that Wendy is not fully cooperating with their plan. She was hoping they would’ve given her a better goodbye.
“They had a full goodbye package ready to go with all the best moments over the years. They just needed her to do a voiceover. They were going to show all of her greatest hits, the biggest stars, all the funniest moments and they just deleted it! They’re not using it anymore. They just aren’t going to bother.”
Multiple sources told The Sun that no one has been in contact with Wendy Williams. She cut her managers from her life. Her son Kevin Jr. has been taking care of his mom with the help of her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter Sr. He now has a power of attorney as she continues to fight over her finances with Wells Fargo.
