Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney Give Update On Sandwich Shop

Ariana Madix shared an update on the sandwich shop she’s starting with Katie Maloney. On Vanderpump Rules Season 9, the two co-stars decided to start a business together. This came after Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz shared the details of their new bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s. Katie said they know more about business than the two guys do, and Ariana agreed with her.

So, the two decided to open up their own sandwich shop. They immediately came up with the name, Something About Her. However, that name hasn’t won fans over either. They think it sounds more like a lingerie shop rather than a restaurant.

Ariana Madix confirms they’re not working with Randall Emmett

Ariana Madix made an appearance on the Friday, February 11, episode of Scheana Shay’s podcast. She shared an update on their new business venture. She also confirmed that they’re no longer working with Randall Emmett. This comes after Lala Kent and her former fiance split in October 2021.

“The second that everything came out, me and Katie had a conversation. We didn’t even have to say it. We were just like, obviously, we’re not going down that road,” Ariana Madix said on Scheananigans. “No way would we ever do that. I don’t care if Lala stabbed my actual back with a knife. I still would not do that.”

Ariana and Katie are still moving forward with their plans to open the restaurant. It will be located in the Valley. The duo is still in the midst of looking for other investors. They feel that there’s more need for a concept similar to theirs in that location. Ariana said that they’re both “ready” to “start pitching” ideas to potential investors. They already have their numbers and ideas in order.

How they came up with the name for the sandwich shop

Ariana Madix also explained how they came up with the name. Most Pump Rules fans don’t like the name. They think it sounds like a boutique rather than a sandwich shop. Yet, Ariana and Katie wanted something that matches the feminine vibes of the venue.

“This isn’t a deli where everything’s laid out. We want it to feel like an experience, very Instagrammable, [and] very pretty,” Ariana Madix explained. “We have a lot of really exciting ideas for it. Everything is thoughtful. There will be cocktails involved and the decor is just going to be really beautiful.”

She also revealed that most of the Vanderpump Rules cast members disassociated from Randall amid the news of his alleged cheating. Ariana and Lala Kent have reconciled since they filmed Season 9.

“Lala and I always go up and down, left and right, back and forth. On my side, I really love her deeply and really care about her and always want good things for her,” Ariana Madix said. “And we have so much fun together.”

Of course, their friendship isn’t perfect. There are times when the Give Them Lala founder will say something that upsets Ariana. She holds onto those feelings and doesn’t share them with Lala. Ariana says they “fight like sisters.” At the Pump Rules Season 9 finale party, they were dancing the night away.

Both Ariana and Lala struggle to address their issues right away. This makes things get “bigger,” which makes it “harder to deal with.” They agreed to resolve their problems as they come. Bravo has not renewed Vanderpump Rules for Season 10.
